Lord of the Rings
Zoe and Emma are mad about Lord of the Rings so here is some kool stuff from them about Lord of the Rings. For a link to the official website of the film go to the fave links page.

The Fellowship of the Ring. This is the first book in the trilogy and the first film. It is when Frodo (a hobbit played by Elijah Wood) has an evil ring that Sauron (the dark lord of Mordor) made to rule the world. Frodo sets out with his friends, Samwise Gamgee(Sam, played by Sean Astin), Meriadoc Brandybuck(Merry, played by Dominic Monaghan) and Peregrin Took(Pippin, played by Billy Boyd) set out to Rivendell with the ring. On the way they meet Strider(Aragorn, played by Viggo Mortensen). In Rivendell it is decided that they must destroy the ring, so the hobbits, Strider, Gandalf, a wise old wizard(played by Ian McKallen), Legolas, an elf(played by Orlando Bloom), Gimli, a dwarf(played by John Rhys-Davies) and Boromir, the Steward of Gondor(played by Sean Bean) set out to Mordor to destroy the ring. They pass through Moria, an ancient mine of the dwarves. In Moria they are attacked and Gandalf falls off of the bridge of Kazad Dum into the darkness. The others carry on into Lothlorien, the Golden Wood, and are gifted by the Lady Galadriel(played by Cate Blanchett). They are attacked again when they leave the forest and Boromir dies, Frodo and Sam leave on thier own, Merry and Pippin are carried off by Orcs and Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli are left on thier own.

Legolas
Orlando Bloom
The Two Towers. Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli set out after the Orcs to save Merry and Pippin. Merry and Pippin manage to escape and make friends with an Ent, a strange tree-like man, called Treebeard. Treebeard and his friend Ents decide to attck the tower at Isengard from which came the Orcs. Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli meet up with an old friend, Gandalf, who didn't die when he fell from the bridge. He helps them on thier way and they soon catch up with Merry, Pippin and the Ents. Meanwhile, a long way away, Frodo and Sam meet Gollum a strange creature that loves the ring and calls it his Precious. Frodo makes friends with Gollum and he agrees to help them get to Mordor. Gollum leads them to Cirith Ungol - The Shelobs lair. Shelob is a big spider-like creature and she ties up Frodo when Gollum abandons the hobbits. Sam attacks Shelob and she runs away. Sam thinks that Frodo is dead so he takes the Ring and Frodo's sword and goes off alone. He hears Orcs coming and hides. The Orcs find Frodo alive and carry him off.

Frodo

  The Return of the King.

Merry, Pippin, Gandalf, Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli travel to Minas Tirith. They do battle with more Orcs and the King of Gondor kills himself so Aragorn becomes King. Sam rescues Frodo and together they travel through the dangers of Mordor, Frodo carrying the Ring once again. They reach the volcano or Mount Doom, in the fires they need to destroy the Ring. But Frodo is drawn to the power of the Ring so when they reach the centre of Mount Doom he puts on the Ring and claims it for his own. But someone other than Sam dosn't like that, Gollum, he jumps up and bites the ring (and finger!) off of Frodo's hand. But then he falls into the fires far below them. So the Ring is destroyed. Sam and Frodo creep out of Mount Doom and fall asleep. They later awake in Minas Tirith surrounded by all of thier friends. The hobbits jouney back to the Shire where they came from but they find it has been taken over by Saruman, an evil wizard from Isengard (played by Christopher Lee). They battle with the ruffians and win and Saruman's servant ,Grima Wormtongue (played by Brad Dourif) kills Saruman. The hobbits kill Wormtongue. Frodo and Sam live together and Sam marries Rosie. Frodo is unhappy and goes over the sea with Gandalf and Bilbo, his uncle who gave him the Ring(played by Ian Holm).

This is the current film at cinemas at the moment. Its a really good film and should be watched by everyone. It's a bit different from the books but still as good!!!
